It’s been months, or years. You’re taking your temperature and peeing on strips, your intimacy is on a set schedule. The two-week wait feels like an eternity. You’re tired and isolated, feeling anxious and overwhelmed. It’s becoming hard to move beyond the disappointment, frustration and pain.
You were so excited to start your family, but now it’s become something that’s weighing you down. Your heart is continuously breaking. You want it so badly, but you’re unsure how to manage the stress and uncertainty as you move forward.

How it works
Process the unexpected, grieve, and find a way forward
Therapy for infertility and pregnancy loss is focused on helping you grieve the unexpected while finding a way to continue to live your life in the present. I know from personal experience how challenging achieving this balance can be.
With a focus on combining insight-oriented and tools-based therapies like psychodynamic, attachment and cognitive behavioral therapy, we’ll provide relief from the symptoms of depression and anxiety while helping you learn how to move forward without giving up hope.
Together we’ll look for ways you can comfortably let go of some of the restrictions you’ve put on yourself. We’ll help you reconnect with your passions and identities outside of fertility and family planning. You’ll learn how to better handle the stressors, the ups and downs, the waiting, the treatments. You’ll build skills around better managing anxiety and uncertainty. You’ll have a safe space to feel and share the sadness, the hopelessness, the fear. A place to unburden your sense of isolation and loneliness.
I know how difficult this journey can be. I will help you find a way to stop putting your life on hold, as you continue working to build your family. It is possible to find a way forward, and you don’t have to do it alone.

You can expect my full presence in our sessions. I do not direct our sessions or come with an agenda. My clients bring in whatever is on their mind, or challenges and reflections that have come up in the past week. I will help you make connections, gain insight, and consider different perspectives. When needed I will gently challenge your narrative to make room for a different way of thinking or relating to a person or experience. Over time, you will begin to think and feel differently and see changes in your daily life.
I also know how important it is to start feeling relief fast, so from the first time we meet I’ll support you in developing practical tools to help you better manage your symptoms. -
Getting to know you and your story is an important part of the therapeutic process. During the first few sessions we will talk through your history, from childhood to the present, as well as begin exploring what is bringing you into therapy now. As I work from a trauma-informed psychodynamic and attachment perspective, this context will help us connect the dots to learn how your past is impacting your present.

While this is unique to each person, the kind of therapy I do is an investment - but it is an investment in yourself and your life. It is not a quick fix and many individuals are in therapy with me for six months or longer. This is because we are doing deeper work to create real, lasting change. My clients change the way they view themselves, show up in their relationships, and relate to the world around them. This kind of work does take time, but I promise it is worth it.
My goal is to also ensure that you are leaving each session with something concrete to put into practice so you can begin to feel better soon - whether it is a tool or skill to better manage anxiety, a way to communicate more effectively, set a healthier boundary, or speak to yourself differently.

In order to protect the unique therapeutic relationship, I am unable to see clients both for individual and couples therapy. If you are interested in working with me but need both individual and couples, please reach out for a consultation so we can assess what service would be best for you. I am happy to provide referrals to trusted colleagues for additional services.
